E-Junkie Increases Sales
I just got done buying an eBook from an author who uses
Oak eBooks. I know nothing of Oak eBooks other than my recent experiencing of buying a book from them. It was unnecessarily – one might say unbelievably complex. I could not purchase without registering an account with them. Once I registered the account, I had to verify it via email. I could not use my preferred payment providers (PayPal or GoogleCheckout) and had to use my credit card. I hate using my credit card with merchants that I do not know. I had to fill in details about my address – completely unnecessary for a digital product…
Going through the process, reiterated the benefits of using E-Junkie to sell ebooks, mp3 and other digital products. Ejunkie is quick and seamless for a customer. They do not have to get an account or give away their address or credit card number. And – It’s quick. If a merchant uses E-Junkie as their eCommerce solution their clients can complete their purchase in less than 60 seconds.
The only reason that I completed the purchase with Oak eBooks is that I REALLY wanted the ebook. The author of the eBook came highly recommended and the books topic is 100% relevant to a specific need that I have. I would have jumped through even more hoops to get the book.
That’s the good news.
The bad news? Many purchasers would be put off by the long process of buying the book. The shorter and easier your sales process is the more sales you make. I would say that the author is losing a substantial number of sales by using a complex checkout process. By substantial, I mean several hundred percent.
Look at it this way. If 1 out of every 100 people land on your site and buy your book, you have a 1% sales (or conversion) rate. If you can simplify your sales process and bring your rate up to 3 out of every hundred, you have increased your sales rate 200% to a 3% conversion rate. You can build massive success on increased conversion rates. And E-Junkie has many conversion boosters already built in. The primary one’s are ease of use and speed.
Look, I have nothing against Oak eBooks. They seem like a fine company. And I am likely to do business with them again. But there are many people who will not do so, because they didn’t complete the first order! And both the company and the author have lost out.
67-Day E-Junkie Trial (No Credit Card Required)
Though I am not an employee of E-Junkie and do not represent the company, I have negotiated a coupon code for users of this blog. It entitles you to an addition 60 days of free use, beyond the usual 7-day trial – that’s 67 days of free use. And YES, it’s a fully functional trial. You can begin making money before you pay a dime! I used to post the code online but I had to stop because it was being spread all over the internet…and E-Junkie’s founder did not like that. I don’t blame him.
If you want the 67-day free trial enter your email and you will get an email that contains the code:
